Martial Arts Karate Lessons Taekwondo Denver

Time:
  •  Minimum 6 months active training (at least 2 classes per week).  A student must attend at least 50 classes during the six months prior to testing, classes beyond six month do not count towards testing.  Multiple classes taken on the same day count as one class.
  • Must complete Community Service Project
Stances:
  • No new stances
Kicks:
  • Flying Twin Foot Front Kick (1 or 2 targets)
  • Flying Twin Foot Side Kick (1 target)
  • Flying Twin Foot Turning Kick (1 target) 
  • Midair 360o Back Kick
  • Multiple Kicking 4 Kicks Combination and Consecutive
  • In addition, the Instructor will give the student a list 15 more kicks and combinations to do at testing

  • Choong-Moo
  • Hwa-Rang
  • Toi-Gye
  • Jung-Gun
  • Yul-Gok
  • Won-Hyo
  • Do-San
  • Dan-Gun
  • Chon-Ji
Step Sparring:
  • Model Sparring
  • Prearranged Step Sparring
  • 1 Step 
  • 2 Step
  • 3 Step
Self-Defense:
  • Ho Sin Sul demonstration, 2 minute continuous demonstration against one opponent involving strikes and holds.  No weapons allowed at this level.
Breaking:
  • Flying Side Kick over barriers
  • 2 Breaks of Student's choice, may include a hand break on wood or roof tiles, conditions apply.
Tournament Competition:
  • A student must participate in at least one tournament between 2nd Gup Red and testing for I Dan Black.

  • A student must read a martial arts themed book or view a martial arts themed video then prepare an essay on any aspect of Taekwon-Do from the reading or viewing. To see a reading/viewing list and essay guidelines click here.
  • There will be a comprehensive written or oral test, depending on candidate's ages of all color belt knowledge.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must present a current Taekwon-Do history.  Check Instructor Page for format.
