8th Gup Yellow Belt Requirements

Martial Arts Karate Lessons Taekwondo Denver

Time:
  • Minimum 3 months active training
  • Minimum 24 classes attended
Stances:
  • No new stances
  • Knifehand Guarding Block
  • Twin Outerforearm Block
  • High Block with Outer Forearm Block

Strikes:

  • Knifehand Side Strike 
  • Rear Leg Turning Kick
  • Lead Leg Turning Kick
  • Stepping Turning Kick
  • Back Kick
  • Jump Front Kick
Patterns:
Step Sparring:
Self-Defense:
Breaking:
  • Turning kick or Back Kick
  • A student may choose their own break, but it must be approved of by the Instructor no less than 2 weeks prior to testing.
Tournament Competition:
  • A student must participate in at least TWO tournaments before testing for 6th Gup Green.
  • What is the student oath?
  • What are the 5 tenets of Taekwon-Do?
  • What is the Dan-Gun pattern diagram, number of moves and meaning? 
  • What does the color Yellow Belt signify?

Students should be keeping a notebook which must be presented in order to test for I Dan Black Belts.
